Refund Policy

This Refund Policy governs all financial transactions made through the Dysank platform by students, parents, and independent tutors. Please read this policy carefully before making any payment or entering into a service agreement on Dysank.

Platform Escrow Model — How Payments Work

Dysank operates on a fully transparent escrow payment model. When a parent or student deposits funds to initiate a tuition arrangement, those funds are held securely in the Dysank platform escrow — not released to the tutor — until specific milestones are verified and approved.

This model ensures that:

  • Parents are never at risk of paying for sessions that were not delivered.
  • Tutors are protected from payment defaults once a session is logged and verified.
  • All financial flows are transparent, auditable, and visible on both the parent and tutor dashboard.

The initial deposit made by a parent represents the maximum expected fee for an engagement period. This deposit does not constitute a non-refundable advance. It functions as a platform security hold that preserves both parties' interests.

Student & Parent Refund Rights

Dysank guarantees full financial protection to every parent and student on the platform. Your funds remain retrievable in all scenarios outlined below.

2.1 — No Tutor Accepts Your Request

If you submit a tuition request and no independent tutor accepts it within the system matching window, your full deposited amount is automatically reversed to your active Dysank wallet balance. No action is required from your side. Timeline: Instant upon matching window closure.

2.2 — You Cancel After the Demo Session

If after attending a free diagnostic demonstration session you decide not to proceed with the tutor, your entire escrow balance is refunded immediately to your Dysank wallet. You will not be charged for the diagnostic demo session under any circumstances. Timeline: Instant upon cancellation action via your dashboard.

2.3 — Deposit Exceeds Final Tutor Rate (Delta Refund)

If you deposit the maximum expected fee during the request phase, and the tutor you ultimately select charges a lower rate, the difference (delta amount) is automatically calculated by the system and credited back to your Dysank wallet at the moment of contract activation. No manual request is required. Timeline: Instant upon contract confirmation.

2.4 — Mid-Month or Mid-Contract Cancellation

If you choose to terminate an active tuition contract at any point during the billing cycle, you are charged only for sessions that were verified and delivered up to the exact date of cancellation. All remaining prepaid session value is credited back to your Dysank wallet immediately. Timeline: Within 24 hours of cancellation confirmation.

2.5 — Tutor Cancels a Confirmed Session

If a tutor cancels a scheduled and confirmed session, the full value of that session unit is immediately credited back to your active Dysank wallet. You will receive an automated notification confirming the credit. Timeline: Instant upon cancellation log.

2.6 — Technical Fault or Platform Outage

In the event that a session is disrupted, inaccessible, or fails to execute due to a verified technical fault on the Dysank platform, a full refund for the affected session unit is issued to your wallet upon diagnostic resolution. Timeline: Within 24–48 hours of fault verification.

2.7 — Withdrawing Refunds to Your Bank Account

All refunds land first in your Dysank wallet balance. You may initiate a bank withdrawal at any time from your dashboard. Bank transfer timelines are governed by your payment gateway and typically complete within 5–7 working days from withdrawal initiation, subject to standard banking processes.

Tutor Payment & Refund Protections

Dysank is committed to ensuring that independent tutors are compensated fairly and promptly for every verified session they deliver. The following policies govern the financial protections available to tutors on the platform.

3.1 — Escrow Protection for Delivered Sessions

Once a contract is activated, the required fee amount is locked in the parent's escrow pool. This ensures that funds corresponding to your upcoming sessions are secured by the platform before you deliver your first mainstream class. You are not dependent on the parent manually paying you — the system enforces payment discipline automatically.

3.2 — Pay-Per-Session Calculation

Tutors are paid strictly for the number of sessions they verify and log as completed. The formula applied is:

Per Session Earnings = Hourly Rate × Session Duration (in hours) Monthly Net Payout = (Total Verified Sessions × Per Session Earnings) − Platform Convenience Fee

Only sessions marked as "Completed" in the session log within the specified entry window are included in the monthly billing calculation. Sessions not logged within the deadline may be excluded from the billing cycle.

3.3 — Partial Month Contract Termination

If a parent terminates a contract before the end of a billing month, the tutor receives 100% of the fees corresponding to all sessions that were verified and delivered up to the exact cancellation date. No earnings are withheld or disputed for already-completed sessions. Timeline: Pro-rated settlement processed within 48 hours of cancellation.

3.4 — Parent-Initiated Dispute During Active Contract

If a parent raises a dispute about a delivered session, the platform places the corresponding payment amount under a temporary review hold. Our support team reviews session logs, attendance records, and timestamped data submitted by both parties. The tutor is notified immediately and given an opportunity to submit evidence. Resolution is communicated within 5–7 business days.

3.5 — Monthly Payout Schedule

Verified earnings are credited to the tutor's Dysank Expert Wallet between the 3rd and 5th of the following calendar month, after deduction of the applicable platform convenience fee. Tutors may initiate bank withdrawals from their wallet at any time. Bank transfers clear within 2–3 standard banking days via the integrated payment gateway.

How to Request a Refund

Dysank's refund system is largely automated. In most cases, eligible refunds are processed without any manual request from the parent or student. However, if you believe a refund has not been processed correctly or you need to escalate a concern, use the following channels:

  1. Log in to your Dysank parent or student dashboard.
  2. Navigate to 'Wallet & Transactions' from your account menu.
  3. Locate the transaction in question and select 'Raise a Dispute' or 'Request Refund'.
  4. Provide a brief description of the issue and submit.
  5. Our support team will review your request and respond within 2 business days.
  6. Approved refunds are credited to your Dysank wallet. Bank withdrawal is at your discretion.

Non-Refundable Situations

The following situations are not eligible for a refund under Dysank's standard refund policy:

  • Sessions that were delivered, verified, and logged as completed by the tutor, and not disputed within 48 hours of completion.
  • Cancellations made by the student or parent less than 2 hours before a scheduled session without a valid documented reason.
  • Refund requests submitted more than 30 days after the relevant transaction date, unless exceptional circumstances apply.
  • Cases where a student misrepresented their requirements, leading to a mismatch that was not reported within the diagnostic session window.
  • Funds used for completed demo sessions where the parent chose not to convert to a full contract but attended the session.
  • Situations arising from circumstances beyond Dysank's control, including third-party internet failures, device issues on the student's side, or force majeure events.

Dysank reserves the right to investigate any refund request and may request supporting documentation before processing. Decisions made after a neutral investigation are final and binding on all parties.

Platform Convenience Fee Policy

Dysank deducts a standard platform convenience fee from tutor gross earnings at the end of each monthly billing cycle. This fee is deducted from the tutor's earnings, not from the parent's payment.

  • Current standard fee: 12% of gross monthly tutor earnings.
  • Founding tutor offer: 0% platform fee during the declared beta launch period. Founding tutors will be notified in writing at least 30 days before any fee structure change is applied.
  • The platform fee is non-refundable once applied to a settled payout.
  • Parents are never charged a platform fee. The amount they deposit is the amount they pay — any excess is returned in full.

The platform convenience fee covers payment gateway processing, background verification, escrow management, customer support, and platform infrastructure. The fee structure is displayed transparently in the tutor onboarding portal and the tutor dashboard at all times.

Dispute Resolution Process

If a parent and tutor are in disagreement about a session, payment, or service quality, Dysank provides a neutral, evidence-based dispute resolution process:

  1. Either party may raise a dispute via their dashboard within 48 hours of the disputed session.
  2. Dysank places the corresponding payment amount under a temporary hold during review.
  3. Our support team reviews all available session data — attendance logs, tutor session notes, timestamps, and any submitted communications.
  4. Both parties are given an equal opportunity to submit evidence and statements.
  5. A resolution is communicated to both parties within 5–7 business days.
  6. If the dispute is found in favour of the parent, the refund is issued immediately. If in favour of the tutor, the held payment is released to the tutor's wallet.
  7. Dysank's decision in a dispute is final. For unresolved matters, parties may seek resolution through applicable consumer protection laws of India.

Policy Updates & Contact

Dysank reserves the right to update this Refund Policy at any time. Any material changes will be communicated to registered users via email and in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
